baking-system

baking-system is a skill for Claude Code from dyCuong03/unity-agent-team. It costs 41 tokens per session (759 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A Unity ECS baking-system pattern for work that happens after individual Bakers convert authoring data. A baking system can process several entities together and build shared data that one Baker cannot create alone.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to combine data from multiple Bakers, build blob assets, prepare render meshes, or make structural changes safely after all Bakers finish.
Why use it?
It provides full ECS access for cross-entity processing and complex changes, while allowing incremental baking to skip work when relevant data has not changed.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00041 $0.00759
Opus 5.5 $0.00016 $0.00304
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00008 $0.00152
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00076

Security

Grade A, and why

baking-system scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Baking System

Intent

Perform post-Baker ECS processing in the baking world — cross-entity aggregation, complex structural changes, blob asset construction, and render mesh setup — that cannot be expressed within a single Baker.

Use When

The baking work requires querying multiple entities produced by different Bakers, performing structural changes that would invalidate Baker iteration, or accessing ECS APIs not available to Bakers (e.g., full EntityManager, ComponentLookup across entities).

Avoid When

The work can be done entirely within one Baker — prefer Baker-local logic to avoid the split-responsibility complexity of Baker + baking system.

Senior Pattern

  • [WorldSystemFilter(WorldSystemFilterFlags.BakingSystem)] on a partial struct : ISystem.
  • Baking systems run after all Bakers complete, with full ECS API access.
  • Use SetChangedVersionFilter and RequireForUpdate to skip unnecessary work on incremental rebakes.
  • For structural changes while iterating: call query.ToEntityArray(Allocator.Temp) first, then process via EntityManager random access — never mutate archetypes inside a SystemAPI.Query foreach.
  • Baking systems cannot register DependsOn — Baker must stage all dependency data as [BakingType] components.

Code Template

[WorldSystemFilter(WorldSystemFilterFlags.BakingSystem)]
[UpdateAfter(typeof(TransformBakingSystem))]
public partial struct BoundingBoxAggregateSystem : ISystem
{
    private EntityQuery m_ChangedQuery;

    public void OnCreate(ref SystemState state)
    {
        m_ChangedQuery = SystemAPI.QueryBuilder()
            .WithAll<BoundingBox, BoundingBoxCleanup>()
            .Build();
        m_ChangedQuery.SetChangedVersionFilter(ComponentType.ReadOnly<BoundingBox>());
        state.RequireForUpdate(m_ChangedQuery);
    }

    public void OnUpdate(ref SystemState state)
    {
        // ToEntityArray first — then structural changes are safe
        var entities = m_ChangedQuery.ToEntityArray(Allocator.Temp);
        foreach (var entity in entities)
        {
            var box = state.EntityManager.GetComponentData<BoundingBox>(entity);
            // aggregate, then write runtime component
            state.EntityManager.SetComponentData(box.Parent, ComputeAggregateBounds(entity));
        }
        entities.Dispose();
    }
}

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

baking-system is a skill published in the GitHub repository dyCuong03/unity-agent-team (7 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 41 tokens to every session and 759 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-02.
