baking-world-query-options

baking-world-query-options is a skill for Claude Code from dyCuong03/unity-agent-team. It costs 39 tokens per session (654 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide to configuring entity queries in Unity ECS baking systems. It explains how to include inactive GameObjects and prefab entities while selecting entities that have completed baking.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when a baking system must process inactive scene objects, prefab roots, and only entities marked as fully baked, rather than runtime entities.
Why use it?
Default query rules can omit disabled, prefab, or not-yet-finished entities, causing baking systems to process an incomplete set of data.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00039 $0.00654
Opus 5.5 $0.00016 $0.00262
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00008 $0.00131
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00065

Security

Grade A, and why

baking-world-query-options scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Baking World Query Options

Intent

Configure entity queries in baking systems to correctly include disabled entities, prefab entities, and only entities that have completed a baking pass, ensuring all entity types are processed correctly.

Use When

Any baking system (WorldSystemFilterFlags.BakingSystem) that sets transform components, processes all entity types, or must differentiate between staged/transient entities and fully-baked entities.

Avoid When

Runtime systems — IncludePrefab and IncludeDisabledEntities have different semantics at runtime (they expose entities that should never be directly simulated).

Senior Pattern

  • EntityQueryOptions.IncludeDisabledEntities — includes entities baked from inactive GameObjects.
  • EntityQueryOptions.IncludePrefab — includes entities baked from prefab roots.
  • .WithAll<BakedEntity>() — filters to entities that have completed a full baking pass (excludes transient baking-only entities).
  • Combine all three for baking systems that must process every entity type: .WithOptions(IncludeDisabledEntities | IncludePrefab).WithAll<BakedEntity>().

Code Template

[WorldSystemFilter(WorldSystemFilterFlags.BakingSystem)]
public partial struct CustomTransformBakingSystem : ISystem
{
    public void OnUpdate(ref SystemState state)
    {
        // Process all baked entity types — including inactive GOs and prefab roots
        foreach (var (transform, data) in
            SystemAPI.Query<RefRW<LocalTransform>, RefRO<CustomTransformData>>()
                .WithAll<BakedEntity>()
                .WithOptions(
                    EntityQueryOptions.IncludeDisabledEntities |
                    EntityQueryOptions.IncludePrefab))
        {
            transform.ValueRW = LocalTransform.FromPositionRotation(
                data.ValueRO.Position,
                data.ValueRO.Rotation);
        }
    }
}

Anti-Patterns

  • Omitting IncludePrefab in a baking transform system — prefab entities don't get their transforms set, runtime instantiation produces wrong initial positions.
  • Omitting BakedEntity filter — baking-only staging entities (BakingOnlyEntity) get processed, wastes work and may produce errors.
  • Using these options in a runtime system — IncludePrefab exposes prefab root entities which should never be simulated.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

baking-world-query-options is a skill published in the GitHub repository dyCuong03/unity-agent-team (7 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 39 tokens to every session and 654 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-02.
