ijobchunk-chunk-job

ijobchunk-chunk-job is a skill for Claude Code from dyCuong03/unity-agent-team. It costs 36 tokens per session (770 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide to writing Unity Entity Component System jobs that process whole chunks of entities. A chunk is a group of entities with the same component layout, allowing detailed control over change checks, enabled components, memory access, and command ordering.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to build IJobChunk jobs, detect changed chunks, handle enabled-component masks, access data directly, and provide ordering keys for parallel entity changes.
Why use it?
It helps when a simpler entity job does not provide enough control over filtering, enabled components, or low-level access.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00036 $0.00770
Opus 5.5 $0.00014 $0.00308
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00007 $0.00154
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00077

Security

Grade A, and why

ijobchunk-chunk-job scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

IJobChunk — Chunk-Level Job

Intent

Process entities at the chunk level for maximum control — chunk-level change filtering, enable mask handling, direct pointer access, and explicit sort key management.

Use When

Change filtering via chunk.DidChange() is required. Enable mask must be processed explicitly. Direct unsafe pointer access is needed for maximum throughput. Chunk index is required for ECB.ParallelWriter.

Avoid When

IJobEntity provides sufficient control — IJobChunk adds significant boilerplate. Use IJobEntity for the common case; reserve IJobChunk for performance-critical or control-critical paths.

Senior Pattern

  • Implement IJobChunk on an unmanaged struct.
  • Acquire type handles in OnCreate or OnUpdate via SystemAPI.GetComponentTypeHandle<T>.
  • Update type handles each frame (they are version-stamped; stale handles cause wrong data).
  • Pass the query explicitly to job.ScheduleParallel(query, state.Dependency).
  • Use chunk.DidChange(ref typeHandle, lastSystemVersion) for change-filtered paths.
  • Chain result into state.Dependency.

Code Template

[BurstCompile]
struct TransformUpdateJob : IJobChunk
{
    public ComponentTypeHandle<LocalTransform> TransformHandle;
    [ReadOnly] public ComponentTypeHandle<Velocity> VelocityHandle;
    public uint LastSystemVersion;
    public float DeltaTime;

    public void Execute(in ArchetypeChunk chunk, int unfilteredChunkIndex,
        bool useEnabledMask, in v128 chunkEnabledMask)
    {
        if (!chunk.DidChange(ref VelocityHandle, LastSystemVersion))
            return;

        var transforms = chunk.GetNativeArray(ref TransformHandle);
        var velocities = chunk.GetNativeArray(ref VelocityHandle);
        for (int i = 0; i < chunk.Count; i++)
        {
            var t = transforms[i];
            t.Position += velocities[i].Value * DeltaTime;
            transforms[i] = t;
        }
    }
}

[BurstCompile]
public void OnUpdate(ref SystemState state)
{
    state.Dependency = new TransformUpdateJob
    {
        TransformHandle = SystemAPI.GetComponentTypeHandle<LocalTransform>(),
        VelocityHandle  = SystemAPI.GetComponentTypeHandle<Velocity>(true),
        LastSystemVersion = state.LastSystemVersion,
        DeltaTime = SystemAPI.Time.DeltaTime
    }.ScheduleParallel(m_Query, state.Dependency);
}

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

ijobchunk-chunk-job is a skill published in the GitHub repository dyCuong03/unity-agent-team (7 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 36 tokens to every session and 770 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-02.
