temporary-baking-type

temporary-baking-type is a skill for Claude Code from dyCuong03/unity-agent-team. It costs 36 tokens per session (620 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A Unity ECS marker component that exists only during one baking pass. Unity baking converts authoring data into runtime entity data, and this marker is removed automatically before the next pass.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to mark an entity as changed during the current pass or to carry an intermediate processing flag between a Baker and a baking system. Use a persistent baking type when the state must survive multiple updates.
Why use it?
It represents temporary change or processing state without leaving stale signals in later passes. This avoids manual cleanup for information that should not persist.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00036 $0.00620
Opus 5.5 $0.00014 $0.00248
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00007 $0.00124
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00062

Security

Grade A, and why

temporary-baking-type scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

TemporaryBakingType

Intent

Mark a component as a single-pass baking signal — present during Baker execution and baking system processing within one baking pass, then automatically removed before the next pass.

Use When

Change-detection markers ("this entity was modified in this pass"), processing flags, or any intermediate state that must NOT persist across incremental baking passes.

Avoid When

The data must survive across multiple baking system updates within a multi-pass pipeline — use [BakingType] instead.

Senior Pattern

  • [TemporaryBakingType] attribute on IComponentData struct.
  • Baker adds the component to signal "this entity changed this pass."
  • Baking system reads the component to identify entities requiring reprocessing.
  • Component is automatically removed at the end of the baking pass — no explicit cleanup.
  • Combine with [BakingType] ICleanupComponentData for multi-pass incremental detection.

Code Template

// Change signal — automatically removed after each baking pass
[TemporaryBakingType]
public struct EntityModifiedThisPass : IComponentData { }

// Baker adds it to flag changed entities:
class Baker : Baker<SomeAuthoring>
{
    public override void Bake(SomeAuthoring authoring)
    {
        var entity = GetEntity(TransformUsageFlags.None);
        AddComponent(entity, new SomeComponent { Value = authoring.Value });
        AddComponent<EntityModifiedThisPass>(entity);  // signals "reprocess me"
    }
}

// Baking system reads only changed entities:
[WorldSystemFilter(WorldSystemFilterFlags.BakingSystem)]
public partial struct IncrementalProcessSystem : ISystem
{
    public void OnUpdate(ref SystemState state)
    {
        foreach (var data in
            SystemAPI.Query<RefRO<SomeComponent>>()
                .WithAll<EntityModifiedThisPass>())
        {
            // Only processes entities modified in this pass
        }
    }
}

Anti-Patterns

  • Using [TemporaryBakingType] for data a baking system needs to persist across passes — it gets stripped, causing data loss and incorrect incremental results.
  • Assuming [TemporaryBakingType] components are present in subsequent baking system OnUpdate calls — they are stripped after the first pass.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

temporary-baking-type is a skill published in the GitHub repository dyCuong03/unity-agent-team (7 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 36 tokens to every session and 620 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-02.
