transform-usage-flags

transform-usage-flags is a skill for Claude Code from dyCuong03/unity-agent-team. It costs 39 tokens per session (745 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A Unity ECS baking setting that declares whether an entity needs movement, rendering, or no transform data. Baking converts authoring data into the runtime entity data used by a game.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when converting authoring objects and prefab references into entities, choosing settings such as data-only, moving, rendered, or manually managed transforms.
Why use it?
It prevents data-only entities from receiving unnecessary transform components and prevents moving entities from missing the data they need.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00039 $0.00745
Opus 5.5 $0.00016 $0.00298
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00008 $0.00149
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00075

Security

Grade A, and why

transform-usage-flags scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

TransformUsageFlags

Intent

Declare exactly which transform components an entity needs at bake time, preventing spurious LocalTransform/LocalToWorld components on data-only entities and missing transforms on moving entities.

Use When

Every call to GetEntity() and CreateAdditionalEntity() in a Baker. The flag must match the entity's actual runtime behavior.

Avoid When

There is no "avoid when" — TransformUsageFlags must always be specified explicitly. Never guess; derive the flag from how the entity will be used at runtime.

Senior Pattern

  • TransformUsageFlags.None — data-only entities (config, singletons, tags, staging entities). No LocalTransform added.
  • TransformUsageFlags.Dynamic — entities that move at runtime. Adds LocalTransform + LocalToWorld.
  • TransformUsageFlags.Renderable — entities rendered but not moved by ECS systems (static mesh renderers). Adds LocalToWorld only.
  • TransformUsageFlags.ManualOverride — Baker takes full responsibility for adding transform components. Used when batch-adding many components via ComponentTypeSet to minimize archetype migrations.
  • For prefab entity references: GetEntity(authoring.PrefabField, TransformUsageFlags.Dynamic).

Code Template

class Baker : Baker<EnemyAuthoring>
{
    public override void Bake(EnemyAuthoring authoring)
    {
        // Moving enemy — needs LocalTransform
        var entity = GetEntity(TransformUsageFlags.Dynamic);
        AddComponent(entity, new EnemyData { Speed = authoring.Speed });

        // Config singleton — no transform needed
        var configEntity = CreateAdditionalEntity(TransformUsageFlags.None);
        AddComponent(configEntity, new EnemyConfig { MaxCount = authoring.MaxCount });

        // Batch add via ManualOverride — single structural change
        var tileEntity = CreateAdditionalEntity(TransformUsageFlags.ManualOverride);
        AddComponent(tileEntity, new ComponentTypeSet(
            ComponentType.ReadWrite<LocalTransform>(),
            ComponentType.ReadWrite<LocalToWorld>(),
            ComponentType.ReadWrite<TileData>()
        ));
        SetComponent(tileEntity, LocalTransform.FromPosition(authoring.TileOffset));
    }
}

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
