wave4-ijobentity-advanced-patterns

wave4-ijobentity-advanced-patterns is a skill for Claude Code from dyCuong03/unity-agent-team. It costs 32 tokens per session (717 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An advanced Unity IJobEntity pattern for filtering which entities a job processes and supplying stable indexes for parallel work. IJobEntity is a way to run code over entities with selected components in an ECS game.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for jobs that need include, exclude, or disabled-component filters, deterministic command-buffer ordering, or one result per entity in a NativeArray. Use IJobChunk instead when you need chunk-level metadata.
Why use it?
It avoids processing entities that do not match the required component conditions. Stable chunk and entity indexes also let parallel jobs use command buffers and per-entity output arrays safely and predictably.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00032 $0.00717
Opus 5.5 $0.00013 $0.00287
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00006 $0.00143
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00072

Security

Grade A, and why

wave4-ijobentity-advanced-patterns scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

IJobEntity — Advanced Patterns

Intent

Extend IJobEntity with query filters, sort key parameters, and implicit-query scheduling for production ECS systems.

Use When

  • Structural component filters needed: [WithAll], [WithNone], [WithAny], [WithDisabled], [WithPresent].
  • ECB.ParallelWriter used and deterministic sort key required ([ChunkIndexInQuery]).
  • Per-entity NativeArray writes need a stable index ([EntityIndexInQuery]).

Avoid When

Per-chunk metadata (unfilteredChunkIndex, DidChange, SharedComponent values) required — use IJobChunk.

Senior Pattern

[WithAll(typeof(ActiveTag))]
[WithNone(typeof(DeadTag))]
[WithDisabled(typeof(FrozenTag))]
[BurstCompile]
public partial struct MoveJob : IJobEntity
{
    public EntityCommandBuffer.ParallelWriter Ecb;
    public float DeltaTime;

    [BurstCompile]
    public void Execute(
        [ChunkIndexInQuery] int chunkIndex,
        Entity entity,
        ref LocalTransform transform,
        in Velocity velocity)
    {
        transform.Position += velocity.Value * DeltaTime;
        if (transform.Position.y < -100f)
            Ecb.DestroyEntity(chunkIndex, entity);
    }
}

state.Dependency = new MoveJob
{
    Ecb = ecbSys.CreateCommandBuffer().AsParallelWriter(),
    DeltaTime = SystemAPI.Time.DeltaTime
}.ScheduleParallel(state.Dependency);

Parameter Semantics

  • ref T — read/write (RW type handle).
  • in T — read-only (RO type handle; allows parallel reads with other RO jobs).
  • [ChunkIndexInQuery] int — chunk-level sort key for ECB.ParallelWriter; unique per chunk, deterministic.
  • [EntityIndexInQuery] int — entity-level index within query; use as NativeArray write index for scatter patterns.
  • Entity entity — required when using ECB commands on the current entity.

Anti-Patterns

  • Using [ChunkIndexInQuery] as NativeArray write index — chunk-level, not entity-level; multiple entities in same chunk write same slot.
  • Using [EntityIndexInQuery] as ECB.ParallelWriter sort key — not chunk-stable; use [ChunkIndexInQuery] instead.
  • Forgetting partial on the struct — source generation silently fails.
  • Not assigning result to state.Dependency when work should persist across system boundaries.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

wave4-ijobentity-advanced-patterns is a skill published in the GitHub repository dyCuong03/unity-agent-team (7 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 32 tokens to every session and 717 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-02.
