wave8-ijobchunk-use-enabled-mask-guard

wave8-ijobchunk-use-enabled-mask-guard is a skill for Claude Code from dyCuong03/unity-agent-team. It costs 35 tokens per session (966 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A Unity ECS rule for iterating over enableable components in an IJobChunk job. It checks an entity mask so the job processes only components currently enabled; enableable components can be switched on or off without removing their data.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it in IJobChunk implementations that query IEnableableComponent types, but not in IJobEntity jobs, which handle this filtering automatically.
Why use it?
It prevents chunk jobs from processing disabled entities or accidentally skipping enabled ones when a query includes enableable components.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00035 $0.00966
Opus 5.5 $0.00014 $0.00386
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00007 $0.00193
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00097

Security

Grade A, and why

wave8-ijobchunk-use-enabled-mask-guard scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

IJobChunk useEnabledMask Guard

Intent

Correctly handle the enableable component bitmask in IJobChunk to avoid processing disabled entities or skipping enabled ones.

Use When

  • An IJobChunk implementation iterates over chunks that contain one or more IEnableableComponent types
  • The query includes any component that implements IEnableableComponent

Avoid When

  • The job uses IJobEntity — IJobEntity handles the enableable mask automatically; this guard is only needed in IJobChunk
  • No IEnableableComponent types are in the query — useEnabledMask will always be false; the fast path handles all entities

Senior Pattern

[BurstCompile]
public struct ProcessActiveEntitiesJob : IJobChunk
{
    public ComponentTypeHandle<Velocity> VelocityHandle;
    [ReadOnly] public ComponentTypeHandle<ActiveTag> ActiveTagHandle; // IEnableableComponent
    [ReadOnly] public EntityTypeHandle EntityHandle;

    [BurstCompile]
    public void Execute(in ArchetypeChunk chunk, int unfilteredChunkIndex,
        bool useEnabledMask, in v128 chunkEnabledMask)
    {
        var velocities = chunk.GetNativeArray(ref VelocityHandle);

        if (useEnabledMask)
        {
            // Some entities in chunk may be disabled — iterate only enabled ones:
            var enumerator = new ChunkEntityEnumerator(useEnabledMask, chunkEnabledMask, chunk.Count);
            while (enumerator.NextEntityIndex(out int i))
            {
                velocities[i] = new Velocity { Value = velocities[i].Value * 0.9f };
            }
        }
        else
        {
            // All entities in chunk are enabled — iterate all without mask overhead:
            for (int i = 0; i < chunk.Count; i++)
            {
                velocities[i] = new Velocity { Value = velocities[i].Value * 0.9f };
            }
        }
    }
}

// Schedule — query includes IEnableableComponent type:
EntityQuery query = state.GetEntityQuery(
    ComponentType.ReadWrite<Velocity>(),
    ComponentType.ReadOnly<ActiveTag>());

state.Dependency = new ProcessActiveEntitiesJob
{
    VelocityHandle  = state.GetComponentTypeHandle<Velocity>(),
    ActiveTagHandle = state.GetComponentTypeHandle<ActiveTag>(isReadOnly: true),
    EntityHandle    = state.GetEntityTypeHandle()
}.ScheduleParallel(query, state.Dependency);

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
