profiler-save-data

profiler-save-data is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from IvanMurzak/Unity-MCP. It costs 35 tokens per session (517 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A Unity Editor tool that collects several performance-profiler results and saves them together in a JSON file. The results cover status, memory, rendering, scripts, and a captured frame.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to save a snapshot of a Unity project's performance data for debugging, comparisons, or sharing. You provide the path of the JSON file to create.
Why use it?
It keeps related profiling information in one reusable file instead of requiring separate results to be copied or recorded. This makes it easier to inspect or compare performance data later.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00035 $0.00517
Opus 5 $0.00017 $0.00259
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00103
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00052

Security

Grade A, and why

profiler-save-data scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Profiler / Save Data

Composes the outputs of profiler-get-status, profiler-get-memory-stats, profiler-get-rendering-stats, profiler-get-script-stats and profiler-capture-frame into a single JSON document and writes it to filePath. Creates any missing parent directories.

Inputs

  • filePath (required) — absolute or workspace-relative path to write to.

Errors

  • Returns [Error] when filePath is empty or the write fails (message includes the underlying exception text).

Behavior

Uses System.Text.Json (BCL) for serialization and System.IO.File.WriteAllText for the write. No external Unity package is required.

How to Call

unity-mcp-cli run-tool profiler-save-data --input '{
  "filePath": "string_value"
}'

For complex input (multi-line strings, code), save the JSON to a file and use:

unity-mcp-cli run-tool profiler-save-data --input-file args.json

Or pipe via stdin (recommended):

unity-mcp-cli run-tool profiler-save-data --input-file - <<'EOF'
{"param": "value"}
EOF

Troubleshooting

If unity-mcp-cli is not found, either install it globally (npm install -g unity-mcp-cli) or use npx unity-mcp-cli instead. Read the /unity-initial-setup skill for detailed installation instructions.

Input

Name Type Required Description
filePath string Yes Absolute or workspace-relative output file path.

  "properties": {
    "filePath": {
      "type": "string"
    }
  },

}

Output

Output JSON Schema

{

    }
  },
  "required": [

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
