emil-design-skills

emil-design-skills is a skill for Claude Code from oyi77/1ai-skills. It costs 73 tokens per session (3,087 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A collection of design guidance for building polished user interfaces, including motion, visual styling, component choices, and prototypes. It turns design principles into instructions an agent can follow while working on a frontend.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when improving UI details, choosing animation behavior, shaping a design system, or prototyping an interface.
Why use it?
It helps address common interface problems such as awkward animation, inconsistent styling, and weak component choices.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00073 $0.03087
Opus 5 $0.00036 $0.01543
Sonnet 5 $0.00015 $0.00617
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00309

Security

Grade A, and why

emil-design-skills scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Why These Skills Exist

"Agents don't have great taste."

Emil built these skills because AI agents consistently pick wrong animation ingredients — ease-in for enter animations (should be ease-out), solid borders instead of semi-transparent shadows, wrong timing curves. These skills encode his years of experience at Vercel and Linear into actionable rules any agent can follow.

This is domain expertise as code. AI doesn't replace taste — it amplifies it when the taste is encoded.

When to Use

Trigger phrases:

  • "improve the animations in this project"
  • "audit the UI motion"
  • "what library should I use for X?"
  • "design this UI with Apple-level polish"
  • "review these animation changes"
  • "help me pick between animation approaches"
  • "prototype this UI component in multiple ways"

Use when:

  • Building UI that needs to feel polished, not just functional
  • Reviewing animation/motion PRs
  • Choosing frontend libraries for a new project
  • Designing gesture-driven or spring-based interactions
  • Looking for where motion adds value (and where it doesn't)
  • You want your agent to build interfaces that stand out from AI slop

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
