cold-email-sequencing-for-consultants

cold-email-sequencing-for-consultants is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from peterod99/consultant-skills. It costs 32 tokens per session (1,156 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A four-message cold-email plan for consultants contacting potential clients who match a defined ideal customer profile. The messages are spread across two weeks and use different purposes at each stage.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to plan an initial personalized email, a useful follow-up, a brief proof point, and a final message. It is meant to turn a qualified prospect list into discovery-call opportunities.
Why use it?
It gives outbound email a clear sequence and stopping point instead of relying on one message or repeating the same pitch. It assumes you already have a researched list of at least 50 targets.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00032 $0.01156
Opus 5 $0.00016 $0.00578
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00231
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00116

Security

Grade A, and why

cold-email-sequencing-for-consultants scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Cold Email Sequencing for Consultants

When to use

When you have a validated ICP and a list of 50+ targets, and you're ready to convert them into discovery calls. Cold email alone gets ignored. Sequencing (4 touches over 2 weeks) increases response rates from ~5% to 25%+ when done right.

The framework

  1. Touch 1 (Day 1): Hyper-personalized opener. 3–4 sentences max. One specific piece of research about them or their company (recent hire, funding round, content they published). A hook about a problem you solve. No CTA, just "did you notice this." Example: "Saw you promoted three designers last quarter. Most creative teams hit chaos around that growth stage, do you run into the same?"
  2. Touch 2 (Day 5): Value-first follow-up, not a replay of Touch 1. Share a relevant insight, case study, or framework they'll find interesting regardless of whether they become a client. Casually mention your work (not as the focus). Example: "Thought this resource might be useful, I collected how 20+ design-led companies structure their hiring."
  3. Touch 3 (Day 10): Light social proof. Mention a specific result you've helped similar teams achieve. Keep it short. Restate your core promise in one sentence. Example: "One of your competitors went from 2-week timelines to 4-day turnaround. Worth a chat if you're in the same boat."
  4. Touch 4 (Day 15): Permission to drop the sequence. Acknowledge the silence gracefully. "Sounds like this isn't a fit right now, I get it. If priorities shift, my inbox is open." This moves you from "annoying spammer" to "professional you'd take a call from later."

How to apply it

You're a hiring consultant for tech companies. Your ICP: Chief People Officers at 30–200-person software companies. You've built a list of 100 CPOs.

Day 1, Touch 1: "Hi Sarah, saw your company raised Series B last month. Most teams struggle to scale hiring from 10 to 40 people without culture rot. Have you run into that pressure?"

Day 5, Touch 2: "Sarah, I put together a guide on how 12 Series B companies structured their hiring process during hypergrowth. Thought it might be useful. [Link]"

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
