roblox-building

roblox-building is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from TabooHarmony/roblox-brain. It costs 23 tokens per session (708 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of guidelines for building Roblox geometry, maps, props, routes, landmarks, and generated assets with Luau or connected tools.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create or reuse Roblox assets, generate procedural models or meshes, set materials, inspect collisions and bounds, and playtest builds.
Why use it?
It provides a process for checking existing assets, building in bounded stages, validating results, and testing how players move through the space.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00023 $0.00708
Opus 5 $0.00012 $0.00354
Sonnet 5 $0.00005 $0.00142
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00071

Security

Grade A, and why

roblox-building scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Roblox Building

When to Load

Load for Roblox geometry, props, maps, routes, landmarks, or spatial onboarding via MCP or Luau. See references/full.md for complete patterns.

Quick Reference

MCP Build Mode

  1. Discover Studio, Workspace, and existing asset conventions.
  2. Name the build root, origin, coordinates, and asset manifest.
  3. Build in bounded phases and read back each asset, script, or geometry batch.
  4. Validate structure, capture a deliberate view, and playtest traversal.

Asset Choice

  • Inspect and reuse a compatible existing asset first.
  • For Creator Store or paid assets, surface source, creator, price, and licensing before insertion.
  • Use generate_procedural_model for blockouts, generate_mesh for textured props, and generate_material for surfaces.
  • For meshes, read back MeshPart/SurfaceAppearance, bounds, collision fidelity, anchoring; preview quality levels.
  • Use image tools only for permitted inputs; wait for the returned job before dependent work.
  • Runtime pixel/vertex editing (EditableImage/EditableMesh) is budget- and permission-gated, non-replicating: see full reference.
  • Fall back to native Parts/CSG and report unsuitable generation.

Player Scale

Player ~5 studs | Door 4w×7h | Ceiling 10-14 | Counter 3.5-4 | Seat 1.5 | Path 6+

Spatial Rules

  • Name dimensions; offset sub-parts from anchor CFrames, not guessed world coordinates.
  • Snap to 0.125/0.25/0.5 studs.
  • Build complex CSG near origin, then PivotTo the destination.
  • Set anchoring, collision, shadows, color, and material explicitly.

Acceptance

Prop: named model, pivot, scale, bounds, materials, collision, anchoring, no loose parts, asset provenance. Map: root/origin, zones, landmarks, spawns/return paths, path widths, traversal, and bounds checks excluding Baseplate/Terrain/SpawnLocation. Evidence: structural readback plus screenshot when supported, console/runtime result when playtested.

Anti-Patterns

Guessing coordinates | unanchored or duplicate parts | hardcoded world positions | silent CSG failure | oversized batches | claims without readback

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

roblox-building is a skill published in the GitHub repository TabooHarmony/roblox-brain (43 stars, last pushed 6d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 23 tokens to every session and 708 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
