unity-ugui-authoring

unity-ugui-authoring is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from german-krasnikov/unity-biome-mcp. It costs 35 tokens per session (927 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of instructions and tools for creating and checking Unity’s Canvas-based user interfaces, called uGUI. It covers screens and controls such as buttons, text, images, sliders, input fields, and scrollable lists.

In plain words
What is it for?
It supports building and inspecting uGUI screens, positioning controls, checking Canvas and input setup, verifying persistent button actions, and comparing visual results.
Why use it?
It helps keep interface layout, clickable behavior, and required Unity event setup correct while changes are made.

    Skill enumerates or reads other installed skills. Access to other skills' SKILL.md files or the skills directory reveals prompt instructions, capabilities, and secrets that should be invisible to peer skills.
    Fix: Remove all code or instructions that list or read other skills' files or directories. Skills should operate independently; cross-skill access is a privilege escalation.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00035 $0.00927
Opus 5 $0.00017 $0.00464
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00185
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00093

Security

Grade A, and why

unity-ugui-authoring scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Unity uGUI Authoring

For UXML, USS, UIDocument, or VisualElement work, use unity-uitoolkit-authoring instead.

Read .claude/skills/unity-mcp-operations/SKILL.md once if it is not already loaded. Enable UGUI when these tools are gated.

Tool Map

Tool Use
create_ui Create a Canvas, Panel, Button, Text, Image, Toggle, Slider, InputField, or ScrollView
set_rect Set anchors, position, size, pivot, offsets, or World Space depth
lint_ugui Check EventSystem and Canvas GraphicRaycaster requirements
ui_intent Draft a uGUI hierarchy from a template or natural-language intent
list_events Inspect a persistent UnityEvent listener after wiring

list_events is shared with component authoring. Resolve the live schema before using an unfamiliar parameter.

Deterministic Workflow

  1. Inspect the existing Canvas and hierarchy.
  2. Mark the console.
  3. Create controls with stable names.
  4. Set anchors and constraints before pixel offsets.
  5. Inspect the resulting RectTransform fields.
  6. Run lint_ugui, verify event listeners, and check the console delta.
  7. Use a screenshot only for layout and appearance acceptance.

  commands="""
create_ui type=Canvas name=HUD render_mode=SSO
create_ui type=Panel name=StatusPanel parent=/HUD anchor=top-right size=(320,120) color=#202226E6
create_ui type=Text name=Status parent=/HUD/StatusPanel anchor=stretch text=READY font_size=24 font_min=14 font_max=28
set_rect path=/HUD/StatusPanel/Status anchor=stretch offset_min=(16,12) offset_max=(-16,-12)
""",
  on_error="stop",
  atomic=True
)
get_component(path="/HUD/StatusPanel/Status", type="RectTransform")
lint_ugui(root="/HUD")

render_mode accepts SSO (Screen Space Overlay, the default), SSC (Screen Space Camera), or WorldSpace. For a World Space Canvas, use set_rect.pos3 to set anchoredPosition3D; it takes precedence over pos. font_min and font_max enable TextMeshPro autosizing for a Text element.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
