tool-set-enabled-state

tool-set-enabled-state is a skill for Claude Code from IvanMurzak/Unity-MCP. It costs 48 tokens per session (1,098 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A Unity editor tool for turning named MCP tools on or off in batches. It saves the changed tool settings for future use.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to enable or disable selected Unity MCP tools and check which requested changes succeeded.
Why use it?
It lets you control which tools an AI agent can access without changing them one by one. Unchanged settings are left alone.

About the project

Unity-MCP connects AI coding agents to the Unity game engine through MCP, letting them work with the Unity Editor and running games. It is used by game developers to generate code, automate development and testing, debug projects, and add AI-driven behavior to games. The catalogue entries provide skills, instructions, an MCP integration, and settings for operating this workflow.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00048 $0.01098
Opus 5 $0.00024 $0.00549
Sonnet 5 $0.00010 $0.00220
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00110

Security

Grade A, and why

tool-set-enabled-state scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Tool / Set Enabled State

Enable or disable MCP tools by name. Allows controlling which tools are available for the AI agent.

Inputs

  • tools — array of ToolToggleInput { Name, Enabled }. Non-empty.
  • includeLogs (default false) — when true, returns per-step operation logs alongside the success map.

Behavior

Each entry is resolved against the tool manager's exact-name and case-insensitive lookups. Already-correct state short-circuits as success without writing. The plugin's config is saved once at the end iff at least one tool actually changed state.

How to Call

unity-mcp-cli run-tool tool-set-enabled-state --input '{
  "tools": "string_value",
  "includeLogs": "string_value"
}'

For complex input (multi-line strings, code), save the JSON to a file and use:

unity-mcp-cli run-tool tool-set-enabled-state --input-file args.json

Or pipe via stdin (recommended):

unity-mcp-cli run-tool tool-set-enabled-state --input-file - <<'EOF'
{"param": "value"}
EOF

Troubleshooting

If unity-mcp-cli is not found, either install it globally (npm install -g unity-mcp-cli) or use npx unity-mcp-cli instead. Read the /unity-initial-setup skill for detailed installation instructions.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
