UE-AUDIO-MCP: Skill for Claude Code

.claude/skills/ue5-plugin-dev/SKILL.md

ue5-plugin-dev is a skill for Claude Code from koshimazaki/UE-AUDIO-MCP. It costs 36 tokens per session (1,785 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A step-by-step development checklist for extending the UE Audio MCP plugin, which connects AI tools to Unreal Engine audio features. It covers adding a C++ TCP command and its Python MCP wrapper across six files.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when adding a new Builder, Node, Query, Blueprint, or World command to the plugin, from the C++ header and implementation through the Python tool integration.
Why use it?
It reduces the chance of leaving out a declaration, implementation, registration, or wrapper when adding a command. It also helps place the command in the correct group.

Skill for Claude Code

Written for Claude Code: allowed-tools in frontmatter.

This is koshimazaki/UE-AUDIO-MCP's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on UE-AUDIO-MCP itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything UE-AUDIO-MCP configures →

Needs its repository: it runs a file that does not travel with it, so clone the repository first. The line is ./scripts/build_plugin.sh # sync + compile.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00036 $0.01785
Opus 5 $0.00018 $0.00892
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00357
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00178

Measured 8d ago against content hash 8af06e9c5e70, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

ue5-plugin-dev scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Add New Command to UE Audio MCP

Follow this checklist to add a new C++ TCP command and its Python MCP tool wrapper.

Checklist (6 files, always in this order)

1. Header — declare the command class

File: ue5_plugin/UEAudioMCP/Source/UEAudioMCP/Public/Commands/<Group>Commands.h

Pick the right group file:

  • BuilderCommands.h — MetaSounds builder operations
  • NodeCommands.h — MetaSounds node operations
  • QueryCommands.h — queries, exports, scans, asset operations
  • BPBuilderCommands.h — Blueprint graph editing
  • WorldCommands.h — world setup (AnimNotify, emitters, volumes, spawning)
/** command_name: Brief description of what this command does. */
class FMyNewCommand : public IAudioMCPCommand
{
public:
    virtual TSharedPtr<FJsonObject> Execute(
        const TSharedPtr<FJsonObject>& Params,
        FAudioMCPBuilderManager& BuilderManager) override;
};

2. Implementation — write the Execute() method

File: ue5_plugin/UEAudioMCP/Source/UEAudioMCP/Private/Commands/<Group>Commands.cpp

Pattern:

TSharedPtr<FJsonObject> FMyNewCommand::Execute(
    const TSharedPtr<FJsonObject>& Params,
    FAudioMCPBuilderManager& /*BuilderManager*/)
{
    // 1. Extract params
    FString MyParam;
    if (!Params->TryGetStringField(TEXT("my_param"), MyParam))
    {
        return AudioMCP::MakeErrorResponse(TEXT("Missing required param 'my_param'"));
    }

    // 2. Validate (paths must start with /Game/, no "..", etc.)
    if (!MyParam.StartsWith(TEXT("/Game/")))
    {
        return AudioMCP::MakeErrorResponse(TEXT("my_param must start with /Game/"));
    }

    // 3. Do the work (on game thread — this runs via AsyncTask)
    // ... UE5 API calls here ...

    // 4. Return JSON response
    TSharedPtr<FJsonObject> Resp = AudioMCP::MakeOkResponse();
    Resp->SetStringField(TEXT("my_param"), MyParam);
    return Resp;
}

Key helpers (from AudioMCPTypes.h):

  • AudioMCP::MakeOkResponse() / AudioMCP::MakeOkResponse("message")
  • AudioMCP::MakeErrorResponse("error message")

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

ue5-plugin-dev is a skill published in the GitHub repository koshimazaki/UE-AUDIO-MCP (6 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 36 tokens to every session and 1,785 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
