unity-asset-store

unity-asset-store is a skill for Claude Code from dcc-mcp/dcc-mcp-unity. It costs 61 tokens per session (1,038 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A planning skill for obtaining Unity Asset Store resources from an official product link. It prepares an acquisition plan but does not download packages or confirm that an account owns them.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to plan acquisition of Unity packages, templates, or other resources, then check the Unity project before import. The user still handles sign-in, purchase or entitlement, download, and import.
Why use it?
It separates identifying the requested asset from purchasing, importing, and checking it in Unity. This helps avoid treating a public listing or recognised link as proof of access or compatibility.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00061 $0.01038
Opus 5.5 $0.00024 $0.00415
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00012 $0.00208
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00104

Security

Grade A, and why

unity-asset-store scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/plan_asset_acquisition.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Unity Asset Store

This optional marketplace skill turns a user-supplied official product URL into a local acquisition plan. It makes no network requests and changes no files or Unity state. Install it separately from the adapter's bundled project and scene skills.

Acquisition workflow

  1. Call plan_asset_acquisition with the supplied product URL. Use the returned asset_id and tracking-free product_url when identifying the requested package. A successful plan means only that the link was recognized. The tool does not retrieve price, package format, publisher, version, compatibility, or entitlement.
  2. Have the user check the live listing's publisher, supported Unity version, render pipelines, dependencies, license, and price. The user signs in and purchases or adds the resource to My Assets through Unity's official interface. Do not infer ownership from a public listing or from a successful plan.
  3. Before import, use unity-project → inspect_project to confirm the intended project, Editor version, and readiness. Save user work and make a project backup or version-control checkpoint before importing third-party code or settings.
  4. The user opens Unity's Package Manager → My Assets, selects the acquired package, and downloads it. For .unitypackage assets, the user reviews the import selection and any existing-file or project-settings changes before importing. UPM assets use the official Package Manager installation flow instead. A product URL cannot establish which format is available.
  5. After the user reports import complete, wait for compilation and asset updates to finish. Use inspect_project, search_assets with an expected name supplied by the user or package documentation, and unity-diagnostics → read_console. Record the actual imported paths and errors. Search results prove presence of those assets only; require a package-specific scene or test before claiming the kit works. refresh_assets discovers changed files; it does not unpack a .unitypackage.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
