blender-data-geometry

blender-data-geometry is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from dcc-mcp/dcc-mcp-blender. It costs 41 tokens per session (447 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A Blender skill for creating bounded native meshes, editable polygon curves, and built-in-font text from explicit geometric data. It is intended for data-based shapes such as GIS contours and scientific interchange.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create finite meshes, closed 2D contour curves with holes, and short text objects in Blender, then inspect their native positions or topology and save the result.
Why use it?
It keeps geometry within stated resource and coordinate limits and avoids silently adding smoothing, materials, UVs, or other design choices. Existing scene data is not overwritten.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00041 $0.00447
Opus 5.5 $0.00016 $0.00179
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00008 $0.00089
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00045

Security

Grade A, and why

blender-data-geometry scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 22d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 5 executable files (scripts/create_curve_from_points.py, scripts/create_mesh_from_data.py, scripts/create_text.py, …), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Bounded data geometry

Use an unused name in an owned scene. Inputs are explicit finite XYZ and face-index data, never code or file paths. Existing data is never overwritten. The tools preserve selection and read back native float32 positions and topology or spline controls. Mesh payloads are limited to 30,000 vertices, 50,000 faces, 200,000 indices and 2 MB JSON. Curves allow 1,024 splines and 30,000 total controls. Coordinates are within ±1,000,000 scene units. These are resource bounds, not a sandbox or proof of valid engineering geometry.

2D curves must lie at local Z=0. Use existing object transforms to position them. Each ring is a separate closed POLY spline; preserve the source's exterior/interior orientation and visually verify filled holes. extrude is Blender's per-side depth, so a flat filled curve's body thickness is twice that value before bevel. No smoothing, triangulation, rig, UV or material is invented. Follow with typed material, transform, save and reopen operations.

Text creation and inspection accept 1–160 printable ASCII characters over at most three lines, size 0.001–10, extrusion 0–0.1, and LEFT/CENTER/RIGHT alignment. Regular and styled font slots must use local built-in fonts; an unassigned style slot falls back to the regular font. Use an existing named material when requested. Inspection reads native text and transforms without changing an existing object.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

blender-data-geometry is a skill published in the GitHub repository dcc-mcp/dcc-mcp-blender (51 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 41 tokens to every session and 447 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-04.
