asset-3d-generate

asset-3d-generate is a skill for Codex from frabcd/codex-ai-game-studio. It costs 40 tokens per session (501 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A 3D asset production workflow turns a text brief or rights-cleared reference images into a model prepared for use in a game engine. It checks the model's shape, surfaces, textures, detail levels, collisions, and import behavior.

In plain words
What is it for?
It generates or processes models for a named engine and renderer, repairs geometry and materials, creates turntable and wireframe views, and tests scale, shading, collision, and runtime limits.
Why use it?
It catches common problems that can make a 3D model look wrong, collide incorrectly, or exceed the game's performance budget. It also keeps the source and processing history traceable.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00040 $0.00501
Opus 5 $0.00020 $0.00251
Sonnet 5 $0.00008 $0.00100
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00050

Security

Grade A, and why

asset-3d-generate scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Asset 3D Generate

Outcome

Produce a traceable 3D asset that satisfies a concrete in-engine budget and visual target.

Required inputs

  • text brief or rights-cleared reference views
  • target engine and renderer
  • scale, topology, material, LOD, collision, and performance budgets

Ask for missing information only when it changes the route materially. Otherwise state conservative assumptions and proceed with read-only analysis.

Workflow

  1. Verify reference rights, identity consent when relevant, and output-license compatibility.
  2. Choose a hardware-compatible generation path and document the model, weights, settings, and seed when available.
  3. Generate into a new working directory and preserve raw outputs.
  4. Repair orientation, units, transforms, topology, normals, UVs, materials, LODs, and collision through an approved DCC route.
  5. Render multi-view turntables and test import, scale, shading, collision, and runtime budget in the target engine.

Expected artifacts

  • asset specification
  • raw and processed models
  • turntable and wireframe views
  • engine import proof
  • provenance record

Workflow-specific gates

  • Reject non-manifold geometry, inverted normals, broken UVs, missing textures, unsupported shaders, or unbounded polygon counts.
  • Characters must be routed through rig and animation validation before production use.
  • Do not treat a visually plausible single render as evidence of a usable 3D asset.

Production completion gate

Before recommending production use, complete and report all seven gates:

  1. Rights, consent, code/model/dataset/output license, and generation-provenance checks.
  2. Technical format, naming, scale, color, metadata, and target-import validation.
  3. Visual and temporal consistency review across representative views and states.
  4. Runtime memory, frame-time, draw-call, streaming, and asset-budget checks.
  5. Playability and interaction smoke tests in the target runtime.
  6. Screenshot, capture, diff, or artifact-regression evidence with reproducible settings.
  7. Human approval before replacing source assets or promoting generated output.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
