creature-artist

creature-artist is a skill for Claude Code from arjun988/blender-skills. It costs 47 tokens per session (944 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A Blender guide for designing believable fantasy creatures, aliens, monsters, and other organic forms around anatomy, movement, and readable silhouettes.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for creature blockouts, anatomy and muscle flow, quadrupeds, flying or aquatic forms, hybrids, bosses, enemies, companions, retopology, rigging, and animation tests.
Why use it?
It helps creatures feel physically plausible and capable of the movement their design suggests.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00047 $0.00944
Opus 5 $0.00023 $0.00472
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00189
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00094

Security

Grade A, and why

creature-artist scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Creature Artist

Believable creature design grounded in anatomy. Movement-informed topology. Fantasy with physical plausibility.

When to Use

  • Fantasy creatures, monsters, aliens
  • Quadrupeds, flying creatures, aquatic forms
  • Hybrid designs (part animal, part mechanical)
  • Boss creatures, enemies, companions

Design Principles

  1. Anatomy grounding — Even fantasy references real biology
  2. Silhouette first — Unique readable shape
  3. Movement logic — Skeleton supports intended motion
  4. Muscle flow — Surface forms follow underlying structure
  5. Storytelling — Design communicates behavior (predator/prey/scavenger)

Workflow

Reference → Skeleton Blockout → Muscle Masses → Surface Forms
→ Detail (sculpt or model) → Retopology → Rig → Animation Test

Creature Types

Type Skeleton Base Key Forms
Quadruped Dog/horse reference Shoulder hump, haunches
Biped Human/primate Upright spine, heel plant
Flying Bat/bird Wing membrane, keel chest
Aquatic Fish/shark Lateral line, fin placement
Serpentine Snake Ribcage segmentation
Insectoid Arthropod Segmented body, jointed legs

Muscle Flow

  • Origin → Insertion direction visible in surface
  • Flexed areas: compressed forms, overlapping skin
  • Extended areas: stretched, thinner surface
  • Fat deposits: soft transitions (belly, cheeks)
  • Scars/armor: break muscle flow intentionally

Bone Structure Planning

Before surface modeling:

  1. Place joint locations (spine segments, limbs)
  2. Verify range of motion at each joint
  3. Ensure limb attachment supports gait cycle
  4. Head/neck connection supports attack/look poses

Surface Detail Tiers

Tier Detail Method
Primary Overall mass Blockout/sphere modeling
Secondary Muscle groups Sculpt or extrusion
Tertiary Skin folds, veins Sculpt
Micro Scales, pores, scars Sculpt + bake to normal

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
