hayba-multiplayer-replication-audit

hayba-multiplayer-replication-audit is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from zajalist/hayba. It costs 37 tokens per session (413 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A workflow for checking one replicated Unreal actor and state change across a host and clients. Replication is Unreal's system for sending selected actor state over the network so different game instances can observe it.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to inspect an actor's replication flags, run a configured multi-client PIE session, trigger one event such as opening a door, compare each instance, and save and recheck accepted level edits.
Why use it?
A single-player test cannot show whether multiplayer state reaches the right players. The audit separates authority from client views and checks both the runtime observations and the saved network setting.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00037 $0.00413
Opus 5.5 $0.00015 $0.00165
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00007 $0.00083
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00041

Security

Grade A, and why

hayba-multiplayer-replication-audit scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 13d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Audit one replicated interaction

When to use

Use for one actor and one state transition, such as pickup ownership or a door opening. Define which side has authority, what each client should see, expected update latency, and the project's network budget. A single-player PIE run cannot answer a multiplayer question.

Tool routing

  • Inspect the exact actor with actor_inspect and actor_get_properties. Read get_tool_signature for net_set_replication and change only a confirmed flag on an authorized map; this edits the level. Read the flag back, then save the exact active map with level_save if the edit is accepted. Inspect saved, dirty, and verified status and re-read the flag after saving. If persistence is uncertain, mark the flag change unsaved and route it to hayba-world-save-integrity.
  • Use editor_get_state before a configured multi-client PIE session. If this workflow starts editor_start_pie, always call editor_stop_pie afterward. Compare editor_pie_actor_list and editor_pie_actor_inspect for the host and each relevant client instance, using their explicit instance selectors. Trigger the event once through the supported PIE input tools, then observe both sides.
  • net_debug can enable a viewport stat overlay; capture it with editor_pie_screenshot if useful. Its command reply only confirms the overlay request. If the available PIE configuration exposes just one world, arrange a manual multi-client session and do not infer replication from the editor actor.

Evidence

Report level and actor, before/after replication flags, authority and client observations, event timing, overlay or log evidence, and unresolved warnings. Flags and matching final transforms do not prove correct ownership, bandwidth, prediction, or late-join behavior; measure those separately against project targets.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

hayba-multiplayer-replication-audit is a skill published in the GitHub repository zajalist/hayba (13 stars, last pushed 3d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 37 tokens to every session and 413 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-04.
